The effects of Islamic Waqf in Iran (part IV) Sayyed Ahmad Sajjadi

Abstract

Today and in different eras, Iranian have had different religious interests. Because most of them are belong to Shiite group, so the social effects of Islamic Waqf in Iran have been studied. Regarding to development effects of Waqf in Iran, twenty nine dimensions of these effects have been considered and deeds of endowments in pious foundation and the list of benefactor’s intentions which are collected by this foundation in 2012 have been studied. Before, seventeen dimensions of social effects of Waqf have been mentioned including social security, social equity, solving individual and social problems, making habitable cities, altruism, relief payment, meeting the people needs, holding religious ceremony, creating religious place, libraries, entrepreneurship, sustainable development, ensuring the health, welfare development, reduction of material poverty, development of tourism and creating healthy competition. In this part, other four dimensions are studied including teaching, paying scholarship and tuition fee, having healthy relationship in the society and providing healthy culture. The study of Waqf and waiting culture reciprocity in Islamic society Dad Khoda Khodayar, sadiqeh Mohammadi

Abstract

In Shiite culture, Mahdaviat is considered as a faith doctrines and religion fundamentals. Extension of Mahdaviat culture in occultation era is subject to correct understanding of this culture and selfless contribution of Muslims. Waqf is one of the main financial covers for Islamic governments, symbol of truthfully devotion and the best instrument to do Islamic activities. This paper is provided using description- analysis- subjective method and library instrument (the study of valid documents and resources and using them in research) and after short description about Waqf generalities and waiting culture, seeks to show the relationship between waiting culture and Waqf and also the importance of efficient and applied activity in these two filed. The endowments for Imam Reza (PBUH) and study of their functions Sayyed Hossein Hor

Abstract

Presence of Imam Reza (PBUH) in Iran has had valuable effects which are found at the present and will remain in the future. Waqf tradition which is taken from the Quran and life of Imams (Sirat) thanks to presence of Imam Reza (PBUH) in Iran. In Islamic culture and civilization, Waqf has a long history. Its founder is holy prophet (PBUH) and his household continued it. After martyrdom of Imam Reza (PBUH), the people whom were concerned about the prophet family were endowed a part of their properties to Astan Quds Razavi to pilgrims and needy people use their profits. This valuable traditions has been remained and its effects are highlighted in different fields. In this paper, some of endowed properties for Imam Reza (PBUH) have been studied and religious, social, scientific, research, cultural, artistic, health and politic functions have been regarded. Evidently, these endowed properties have led to development of Waqf culture, consider the needy families, social equality and having healthy and dynamic society. Deed of endowment Dar al- Saltaneh mosque and bathroom in Tabriz Marziyeh Mortazavi

Abstract

In addition to numerous documents in archive and cultural centers, there are many manuscripts about historical documents which some of them have been disappeared. So, some of deeds are important in historical researches. The main aim of this paper is to show the historical importance of deeds and to introduce of a deed of endowment in Safavid era about Dar al-Saltaneh mosque and bathroom in Tabriz in manuscript No. 3846 in Malek national library. According to this deed of endowment, Mahmood Khan Malek has repaired large mosque and has built a bathroom in Tabriz; then he has endowed them. Stone deed of endowments in Zanjan in Qajar era Parastoo Ghasemi Andarood

Abstract

Historical manuscripts are hard written heritage of a country. During the time, these manuscripts are susceptible to damage and loss so the study and documentation of them is very valuable. Bazar is one of the main important economic factors and Waqf has played an important role in formation of its collection such as mosques, houses, bathrooms and caravan-serai (inns). There are many of these samples in the old Bazar which can show the benefactors of these public places. In this paper, the Zanjan stone manuscripts have been studied specifically. Holy pedigree of Imamzadeh Ali ibn Ja?far (PBUH) Gholamreza Goli Zavareh

Abstract

Ali ibn Ja?far is son of Imam Sadiq (PBUH) and has a high position in Alavian and Sadat. He is reliable source of traditions and has narrated various narratives from his brother, Imam Kazem (PBUH) which have been collected in a book, Masail Ali ibn Jafar. He respected to Imam Javad (PBUH) whom was assigned to Imamat. Ali inb Jafar participated in Abu al-Sarayas revolt and Mohammad Dibaj movement. His shrine is located in Orayz village in Madineh and is known Orayzi. The date of his departure is recorded between “210” to “240” AH and historian and genealogists are not sure about his mausoleum and they have addressed Orayz in Madineh, Qom and Semnan to him. Papers collection of “As an open door to heaven” (the study of architecture display of shrines) Sayyed Amir Hossein Kamrani]] Rad]] In issues No.86 and 87, two volumes of papers collection in international congress on shrines were studied. They titled (1) The shrines, manifestation of sacred art” in which shrines decorations have been studied and (2) “respect of the shrine” in which the social roles of shrines a cultural centers have been studied. In this issue, other papers collection has been studied in which shrines architecture display has been introduced. Key words: shrines, architecture, sacred places.
